CONGRATULATIONS to Bianca & Derrick, who said “I do” this past Friday in Portland, Maine! Their wedding was absolutely beautiful and a whole lot of fun. I want to give a special shout out to their families, who were so incredibly welcoming and friendly!The Ceremony took place at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland, ME. This church is seriously STUNNING – but quite not as stunning as the gorgeous couple (as I’m sure you can see in their portrait above!!).
I think every woman loves a spontaneous, super romantic kiss from their partner, which is why the best part about the ceremony was that the kiss was just that! Bianca & Derrick had been expecting the kiss to be the very last thing during the ceremony, but it got squeezed in a little earlier – resulting in an epicly romantic first kiss with a dip!
After the ceremony, we were surprised with a summer rain even though there was no rain in the forecast! It passed quickly, so I’m sure this was just a sign of good luck for the newlyweds 😊 Off we went to the Old Port for some classic & romantic couple portraits, plus a few fun ones that match their cake topper (you’ll see!).The reception was a BLAST – the DJ had everyone dancing the whole night, the food was phenomenal (and leftovers from the buffet were donated to a Portland homeless shelter – how sweet?!), and everyone had a wonderful time.

Samantha and Mike were so wonderful to work with! Both very friendly and laid back. The entire process from chatting about prices to receiving a wonderful surprise in the mail after we had already received our digital file (with over 600 photos!) – was organized and professional. Sam’s passion speaks through her amazing work and how she can take a vision in her head and execute it with simple instructions-a small tweak to your stance or a tilt of your head. I also liked how stealthy they both were throughout the entire wedding and reception. I feel like I rarely saw either of them all night yet they got hundreds of beautiful candid shots. I plan to use Sam for other shoots in the future and I definitely would recommend her to anyone!
